President's Report (SEPTEMBER 2026)

As the weather begins to warm across the country September has been another productive month for AUTRA, with strong participation across the Australian ultra and trail-running community.

Its always fantastic to see the number of events taking place around the country and the dedication of the athletes, race organisers and volunteers who continue to make our sport what it is today.

A key focus this month has been the Australian team selection for the 2026 Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships in China. Congratulations to all athletes and official selected to represent Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the depth of talent in trail and continue building Australia's presence on the international stage. We look forward to following and supporring our athletes in the short lead up and at the championships.

I would like to congratulate Rhiannon Snipe for her performance at the 100km World Championships, its never easy representing you country even more so on you own, Rhiannon should be incredibly proud of her acievement. Hopefully her performance will inspire more athletes to pursue the appropriate qualifying standards, allowing us to build a larger team and provide greater representation for Australia at future World Championships.

I would like to thank our committee, event organisers, volunteers and members for their continued commitment and support. Together, we are building a stronger future for Australian ultra and trail running.
