WEEKLY RACE RECAP FOR 2-11-2026

As always, we're continuously on the hunt for your stories and reports, so get those race reports and photographs in to ultramag@autra.asn.au with the following information:

Word document, single spaced
Include the name of the event, the date and the location anywhere in the report (just a bullet point at the top is great)
Please attach photographs to the email – do not put images in the body of your Word doc. You’ll just get me emailing you back asking for the photos sent in the correct way!
As many photos as possible. With our new website, it’s now easier than ever to include a nice gallery in each race report

And remember, it doesn’t have to be about an AUTRA-listed event specifically! You just have to be an AUTRA member for the 2026 year. Also too, if you’ve run in a non-AUTRA listed event anywhere on home soil or internationally, we’d love to include your race results and experience in our Member Updates, so please do reach out to us via email to kate.dzienis@autra.asn.au

Illawarra Escarpment Traverse, NSW

The Illawarra Escarpment Traverse was held on Saturday, 31 October and offered distances of 19km (261 finishers) and 6km (86 finishers) for participants who ran from Stanwell Park to Bulli Tops in NSW.

In the Men’s 19km, Jayden Simpson took 1^st (1:37:31), Patrick Kelly 2^nd (1:39:38) and Quinn Mitchell 3^rd (1:40:32).

In the Women’s 19km, top spots were won by Mikayla Mclean (1:59:14), Phoebe Carter (1:59:38) and Mimi McIntosh (2:03:53).

Congratulations to our members who raced in the 19km, including Fergus Jackson (4^th Male/1:40:41), Mark Dugan (2:12:15), Shane Wong (2:36:14), Paul Bruce (2:40:19), Matthew Froome (2:59:23), Lisa Sherman (3:05:55), Catherine Froome (3:14:05) and Hailey Hanney (3:49:40).

Winners in the Men’s 6km were Callum Jack (26:58), Jack Smith (27:09) and Graham Williamson (32:12); winners in the Women’s 6km were named Kath White (34:58), Ava Johnson (35:34) and Cecilia Duffy (35:43).

Well done to our member Lisa Krummer who completed the 6km in 35:44.

Kunanyi Trail Series – Cascade Slide, Tas

The Kunanyi Trail Series – Cascade Slide was held on Saturday, 31 October in Nipaluna/Hobart, Tas and offered distances of 17km Enduro (62 finishers), 11km Sport (30 finishers) and 4km Explorer (45 finishers) for participants.

Winner in the Men’s 17km Enduro was AUTRA member Andrew Gaskell, who completed the distance in 1:22:44. Second and 3^rd were awarded to Tobias Jern (1:22:55) and Niko Stoner (1:23:13).

In the Women’s 17km Enduro, podium finishes went to Martha Mellor (1:40:14), Abbey Watson (1:50:20) and AUTRA’s very own Melissa Robertson, who finished in a great time of 1:56:29.

Congratulations to AUTRA member Luke Budd who finished the 17km Enduro in a time of 1:34:03.

Winners in the Men’s 11km Sport were Marcus Lennon (53:30), William Lean (53:36) and AUTRA’s David Bailey who took 3^rd with 56:20.

In the Women’s 11km Sport, top spots went to Paige Hurd (1:05:25), Kellie de Boer (1:11:27) and Mariia Skorikova (1:12:38).

In the Men’s 4km Explorer, winners were Billy Whitehead (20:25), George Cowley (20:37) and Oliver Lean (22:20); winners in the Women’s 4km Explorer were Kirsty Salter (28:33), Jen Macqueen (30:59) and Prue Waters (31:02).
