Expressions of Interest Open: AUTRA State Representatives
AUTRA is seeking passionate and community-minded people to join our national network as State Representatives.
As the national representative body for trail, ultra and mountain running, we want to strengthen the connection between AUTRA and the runners, events, Race Directors, clubs, coaches and communities that make our sport what it is across Australia.
Our State Representatives will be an important link between their local running community and AUTRA, helping us understand what is happening around the country and ensuring local voices, opportunities and issues feed into our national work.
What does a State Representative do?
The role is primarily about connection, engagement and communication.
The position description can be found here.
State Representatives will help:
- Connect AUTRA with runners, Race Directors, clubs, coaches and community groups.
- Promote AUTRA programs, membership opportunities and National Championships.
- Identify local issues, opportunities and emerging athletes.
- Support AUTRA's advocacy and trail-access work.
- Help identify partnerships and opportunities within their state.
- Share local race results, photos, athlete stories and community news with AUTRA's communications team.
- Provide feedback and local perspectives to help inform AUTRA's national planning and priorities.
State Representatives will also work closely with AUTRA's Committee, Sub-Committees, Working Groups and wider volunteer network as we implement our 2026–2030 strategic direction.
Who are we looking for?
You don't need to have been on a sporting committee or have formal qualifications.
We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable, collaborative and connected to—or keen to become more connected to—the trail, ultra and mountain running community in their state or territory.
Most importantly, we're looking for people who care about the future of our sport and want to help strengthen the connection between AUTRA and the communities we represent.
The positions are voluntary and appointments will be for a two-year period.
Interested?
Keep it simple.
Send us a short introduction, tell us where you're based, your connection to trail, ultra or mountain running, why you're interested and any particular areas you'd like to contribute to.
No formal CV is required.
Applications close Sunday 4 October 2026.
