Rotary Rail Trail & Ride, Tas
Run the Great Whitsunday Trail, Qld

This weekend we saw the running of the Rotary Rail Trail Run & Ride 56km in Scottsdale, Tas as well as Run the Great Whitsunday Trail 57.4km in Qld.

In Tas, the 56km featured an out and back course from Scottsdale Train Station which was relatively flat for the first 12k but later turned into a gradual incline and decline, followed by flat again.

It was blue skies for all participants, and a big congratulations to David Bailey from Tolmans Hill, Tas who claimed first overall with an incredible time of 3:39:22 for the 56km.

Not far behind Bailey was Amy Lamprecht from Launceston, who took first female/third overall in just 4:01:07.

Everyone looked strong out on the trails, including third male/fourth overall Fergus Edwards (4:08:06), Jared Parry (5:31:04) and Steve Appleby (6:18:20). Well done to all our AURA members who ran in glorious Tasmania for this event.

The weekend also saw the running of Run the Great Whitsunday Trail which covered 57.4kms through the Conway National Park rainforest towards Airlie Beach Lagoon.

Luke Pryor from Kangaroo Point, Qld took home first place overall with a time of 6:06:20 and congratulations also goes to Matthew Salinovich from WA who came fourth overall after crossing the finish in 6:57:00 and John Kilkelly (7:53:19).
