Canberra Running Festival, AURA 50kms National Championships

The AURA 50km National Championships were held over the weekend (14-15 April) at the Canberra Running Festival, under the event’s Ultra Marathon leg.

A big congratulations to AURA members Vlad Shatrov, Brendan Davies and Barry Keem who, out of 181 finishers, took out the top three podium places.

Vlad took the gold with a time of 3:05:12, Brendan hit the ground at a fast pace with a finish of 3:08:42, and Barry claimed victory for third not far behind with 3:11:38.

Currently, there are provisional results for the women’s division due to unforeseen circumstances regarding some participants taking a wrong turn early in the race.

We will provide results once they have been reviewed by officials in the coming days, however we would still like to congratulate those runners who took on the 50kms and currently have provisional results – Larissa Tichon, Rachel Glasson and Alena Scurrah.

Well done to all our AURA members who crossed the finish line in some fast times – Brad Boyle, Ben Jozefiak, Lorraine Lawson, Michael Manfield, Pam Muston, Stephen Redfern, David Von Senden, and Michael Wakefield.

This Saturday, the AURA-listed Coburg 24-hour will be held in Vic.
