AUGUST 2026

August has been another positive month for AUTRA, with continued activity and growth across the Australian ultra and trail running community.

We continue to see a strong and diverse calendar of events around the country, reflecting the ongoing growth and popularity of ultra and trail running. AUTRA remains committed to supporting event organisers and athletes and to working collaboratively to strengthen the sport nationally.

A particular focus this month has been the selection process for the Australian team for the Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships. It is exciting to see the depth of talent within Australian trail running and the level of interest in representing Australia on the international stage. We look forward to supporting the selected athletes and team as they prepare to compete against some of the best trail runners from across the Asia Pacific region.

The continued development of Australian representation at international championships is an important part of AUTRA’s role, providing athletes with opportunities to compete at the highest level while helping raise the profile and standard of trail running across Australia.

I would like to thank our athletes, event organisers, volunteers, officials and supporters for their ongoing contribution to the sport. The momentum continues to build, and AUTRA remains focused on working with the Australian trail and ultra running community to create further opportunities and a strong future for our sport.
