IAU Virtual Global Solidarity Weekend, 19–20 March 2022

The IAU 6 Hour Global Solidarity Run has been an overwhelming success and popular amongst the ultrarunners. An event that was initiated to bring the IAU family together during the pandemic has become a source of hope and a beacon of optimism for the global ultrarunning community.

How it works:

*Same process at the Global Solidarity Run 2020/2021*

This will be a 6 Hour run on the 2022 IAU Global Solidarity Weekend.

Applications are now open for AURA to select up to 9 male and 9 female members to take part in a virtual 6 Hour race which could be run at any time on either Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th March 2022. No qualifier needed. If we exceed application numbers a random draw will be made to select member athletes.

Athletes could run indoors or outdoors but would need to record their performances on one of the many sports platforms like Strava or Garmin.

AURA will profile the athletes in the lead up to the event. We will cover the event on social media to share your progress and achievements.

There are many ways to approach this event and you can put your own spin on it. You could run it with your local group, have a target distance, go for max elevation, or even run it in your own backyard. If you want to raise money for a charity we can help you spread the word. The various ways to personalise your run will make it an interesting and worthwhile event.

AUTRA Race Report 2-11-2026

Illawarra Escarpment Traverse, NSW Kunanyi Trail Series - Cascade Slide, Tas Harry's King of the Hill, Vic Upcoming Events WEEKLY RACE RECAP FOR 2-11-2026 As always, we're continuously on the hunt for your stories and reports, so get those race reports and photographs in to ultramag@autra.asn.au with the following information: Word document, single spaced Include the name of the event, the date and the location anywhere in the report (just a bullet point at the top is great) Please attach photographs to the email – do not put images in the body of your Word doc. You’ll just get me emailing you back asking for the photos sent in the correct way! As many photos as possible. With our new website, it’s now easier than ever to include a nice gallery in each race report No PDFs please And remember, it doesn’t have to be about an AUTRA-listed event specifically! You just have to be an AUTRA member for the 2026 year. Also too, if you’ve run in a non-AUTRA listed event anywhere on home soil or internationally, we’d love to include your race results and experience in our Member Updates, so please do reach out to us via email to kate.dzienis@autra.asn.au If any corrections need to be made in any of the results listed below, please alert me via email.
