2026 Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships
Applications are now open for athletes wishing to be considered for selection in the Australian team for the 2026 Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships (APTRC).
The championships will be held in Wuyishan, Fujian Province, China from 24-28 November 2026 and will bring together the best trail runners from across the Asia Pacific region to compete for individual and team honours.
Wuyishan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its spectacular mountain landscapes, ancient trails and rich cultural heritage, providing a unique setting for one of the region's premier trail running events.
Championship distances include:
- Long Trail (approximately 80km)
- Short Trail (approximately 40km)
- U23 Trail (approximately 15km)
To be eligible for consideration, athletes must be ranked within the following thresholds:
- Long Trail: Top 30 athletes per gender based on the General Performance Index
- Short Trail: Top 30 athletes per gender based on the General Performance Index
- U23 Trail: Top 20 athletes per gender based on the U23, U20 or U18 Performance Index
Athletes must meet the APTRC eligibility requirements based on ITRA Performance Index rankings as at 31 May 2026 (23:59 UTC) and satisfy the requirements of the AUTRA Selection Criteria
