AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS APPLICATION
Event organisers are invited to apply to host AUTRA Australian Championships EACH YEAR.
Applications open around mid June each year and will be announced in July. Please follow our Facebook page for announcements. Current RD's will also receive an email. If you wish to be added to this email list please contact Director of Events

APPLICATION:
Favourable factors influencing the awarding of the championships include:
- Location (ease of access for AUTRA members to reach the event)
- Time of year (weather for running; whether the event conflicts with known world championship events)
- Size of venue (ability to host adequate number of participants without congestion on the course)
- Benefits to AUTRA members (e.g., discounted entry, online entry)
- Provision of a suitable timing system for the type and size of event
- Events/race directors with a known history
- Number of participants in previous years at the event
- Results achieved at previous events
- Events with promotional capacity (e.g., internet presence such as website, Facebook page on race day live race updates)
- Agree to follow the AUTRA National Championships Race Directors Guide as below.
- Promote the National Championships in the lead up to the event and hold a suitable presentation of awards post event
Australian Championships Requirements
- For complete list of requirements please refer to the current AUTRA National Championships Race Directors Guide.
- Follow any and all published listing requirements and AUTRA/IAU guidelines for road, track and trail events. (In relation to pacing and crewing at track events).
- Road and track events must be IAU-labelled events
- Provide the results in the requisite format to AUTRA within 24 hours of the event taking place
- Display AUTRA promotional material and banners, allow for promotional activities.
- Provide discount on event entry fee to AUTRA members
- The event organiser also will make available one volunteer dedicated solely to provide race updates to the AUTRA Facebook page, including final results as soon as known
IMPORTANT - Results and Post Race Reports
Results and post race reports must be sent to media@autra.asn.au within 24 hours of race completion, along with podium photos, with the competitors names listed from left to right in order of where they are standing in the podium picture within the file name of the image.
Please include any high-resolution photos available to be used in AUTRA’s Ultramag and Annual Report with relevant captions.
